Tried using a custom avatar, upoloaded fine, but dosent play as a gif. And now trying to link externally to a different image it just ignores it and uses the image that was uploaded.
Strange, EQ. I tried uploading an animated avatar right now and it worked fine. Maybe there's a file size limit? It gets hosted on the server, it doesn't stay external. Maybe that's the prob.

Quick Reply is for that - replying quickly! Haha.. if you want to see a Preview you have to do it through the "Go Advanced" editor, which is the standard one. EQ I will check out your avatar dilemma @ lunch today.
I think that's what EQ was saying though Adam - he doesn't use full reply. The old forums allowed us to preview a quick reply, so there's technically no reason this one shouldn't.
I'm not sure if this is by design, but links in sigs look to have a identical color to the text in posts. There needs to be some differentiation there - I would suggest treating links in sigs the same as links in posts - put the dotted underline on them.
There's a lot of code that goes in to doing that. You can do what I've done and go to UserCP -> Edit Signature and add the colour yourself.
When I have the time (next week) I am going to try my hand at differentiating the links in posts vs. the links on the rest of the forums. Right now if I edit one colour, they all get edited. What this means is that if I were to make links in posts, right now as it is, orange then all links turn that colour - including the links to each forum post, reply, etc.
Ok been talking to kub, the issued seemed to be a problem with resizing the gif. Apparently the image was 100x100 and in the process of resizing it lost all of extra frames. Just wanted to post, incase someone else had the same problem
My sig links only displays white (forum default), regardless of the color I set. Do you get some special admin privilege for the coloring or something?
I ended up getting a PM from another member, and can't mark it as read, no matter what I do...nevermind, fixed it, it looks like it took all my prior messages that rolled over from the other forums and marked them as unread when the new message came in, hence why it kept flashing the new message icon. I marked them as read and it went away.
I'd like to put those links into the wiki, if I could just remember which threads they pointed to.
Is there some sort of secret code for converting old thread IDs to the new IDs? I have a bunch of URLs saved on my HDD that would be great to update as well. If possible...
Would you guys like a panic button? Something thats at the bottom of each post (near the reply buttons) that, when clicked, will send the page off to Google.com or something?

When I want to add an image with "[ img ]" flag in my signature, I have an synthax error when I create the preview... It just show the picture adress but don't show my picture/...
I remember We can't do that on Polycount but It could be nice if a message could be wrotte for say "You fool man you're not on a stupid board, We don't accept picture on signature line!"
A thing could detect the "[ img ]" flag.... ?
For exemple I'd like to create a link to Linked In a professional community for link people etc...
But I'm thinking, a lot of professional guys are on Polycount, and maybe any possibility to create something similar could be interesting too... Access to more informations about people, work experience, current job and company... etc...
For exemple when i did my relocation in England from Paris, I found nothing on Polycount about people working in Team17 or arround this place for have more informations.
What do You think about that?
Or If You don't want to create that especially for Polycount maybe create a new little icon and link it to sonething like Linked In ?
why aren't the posts marked as "read" anymore, when you read them? Seems like it's all depending on the date now. I liked it a lot better when only the ones you didn't read where highlighted.

Actually, on the same note, I've found that when I go home, the threads marked unread don't match those when I was at work. For instance, when I leave work now, there will only be 1 or 2 unread. When I get home, most of the items are marked unread (including those where I was the last person to reply).
I'm assuming the forums are using a cookie system to track what I've read, rather than something server side. I'm not sure if there's a fix for that.
Also, the main page shows unread threads, even though I just left that forum. Again, that includes when I appear as the last to reply/post.

Will look in to adding a space for this and Facebook info inside profiles. I'll see what I can do about a warning message when you try and add an image to your signature.
I just noticed this. I replied toa PM but Polycount stills says I have a new pm waiting for me, I checked but I don't. I tried to see if I made a mistake so I replied again to see what would happen, I this with a few hours in between, and it still says I have a new private message, but there isn't any. Can this be fixed? Thanks.

Old URLs will automatically redirect to the new ones. Make sure you're using real URLs.
In the post you linked, the URLs were HTMLized, e.g. ...x&y=z when they should be ...x&y=z
