Although I think the whole text as green would be better. White seems a bit overpowering.
Also the _wide scheme seems a bit broken at the moment, the post with the image in is being scaled more narrowly, and all the posts with just text are staying really wide even if I resize my browser window - the _wide version should only allow itself to be as wide as the browser window, surely?

Yah, I was going to say its the image thats making it larger. We're actually going to be running some software that'll automagically resize images to fit within the 1024x width and supply a sexy method of viewing the full-size image.
np... I web admin on the side, and I know how much of a pain the browser compatibility can be. I forgot about the image offset when I replied to it initially
I like the theme of the new site, but hate how much extra space it takes up between posts, you can read like 3 or 4 posts and then have to scroll again. Move the avatar name and all that stuff back on the left side, so much better for browsing and reading.

I have TONS of suggestions tho! And not only 'please bring back the old look' ones. Would you fancy paintovers/layout suggestions? Nothing crazy, just some recoloring that would make it easier to read. Mostly, getting rid off all them fancy bevel lines everywhere :P At the moment it's like a perfect summary of what I hate about the internet! (read : visual clutter)
Ill make that paintover no matter what anyways :P

"Old theme is gone"? u can always change it. Ideally, there should be a pole thread with as many features voted as possible.

-I really liked clicking the last-poster name and get bumped to his post. Don't need user info, it should be accessed from inside a thread.
-The old school logo and style was much cooler than this in-the-middle-highlight logo style u see everywhere these days a-la apple. The 3 squares make no sense to me either (what is this nurbscount?)
-VG art resource&community is another commercial bit i'd scrap.
-Old smilies were cooler, the salivating dude rocked
-NO SMILEY LOGO
-Logo contest= absolutely.
I agree about the tagline. it makes us look like gameartisanschatsociety-artist.orgcomnet, and polycount has never whored for members and publicity that way. I understand (and disagree with, but i digress) the reasons, for marketing, but polycount doesn't exactly need to be marketed. We're ten years strong without any kind of glitzy branding, and could stay that way. And if you can't puzzle 'game art community' out of 'polycount' you don't really need to post in the forums.
I really wish the avatars will come back. Also, the rating system where if you posted 1000 times, you become a polycounter.. and also putting our logo at the top along with "POLYCOUNT"

Can we have multiple skins to choose from in the CP? I don't recall the really-old gamespy board ever having a choice, but the more-recent ubb board did have skins. They just all sucked (except for the default!).

One thing that bugs me about the new boards that I really liked about the old boards, is the idle timeout. With the old boards, I could log in once in the morning and just leave the FireFox window open all day and just browse the boards at any given point and I'll still be logged in (I don't have my password saved either). With the new boards, there must be like a 5 - 10 minute timeout or something. Saving my password might actually solve this issue, but figured I'd bring it up all the same. I just don't like saving my password on my work PC.

Also, bug I've noticed:
You can't do alt-text for a link or image, and if you manually try to insert it, the post will make all text after that link into part of the link.
I'm not having any issues with the autologin, but then again, my passwords are stored.
I actually like the new logo, but if you wanted it to rotate, that's really easy to do (I've done it myself). You simply get a little script called rotate.php, put it in a folder with all the images and then instead of linking directly to an image, you link to the script. It randomly selects an image from the folder. That's ho the backgrounds and headers are done on my site.

I just wanted to note the new posts tag isn't working as well, it's showing most things unread eventhough I read them. Alterative old-style-polycount skin would be amazing, mad props if you can pull that off, I'm just not so ready yet to let it go.
OOh, I'd like to suggest turning off the thread preview box in favour of having image previews/thumbnails to the left of posts. I'll hover over a link while browsing and a text box pops up and blocks other titles.. I dunno if its just me that finds it annoying, but the text preview doesnt mean much to me, I'd rather have a picture
