For my 3d entry I shall create an Invoker with an earth/rock artifact. With his artifact he can create an earthquake, hints the name. His race would be a Giant with elephant characteristics.
great concepting so far mate there's a sense of mass in the design that a lot of giant characters don't seem to have. cute costume too, very dominatrix.
Graff Pirate - Im planning on finishing out the chick for the concept portion of the competition. I decided to go with something a little more creative for my 3d entry.
Snowfly Yeah, Bondage, hehe
Dusty and thats why I dont like cricket
I_luv_Pixels me too
JFletcher Thanks
Slipgatecentral I dont know; that Stalker of yours is looking mighty good.
Rooster Ill try my best
I figured the most earth shaking artifact a giant could carry into battle would be a Big Ol Hammer. All hes got to do is slam this thing down to release the artifacts powers.
Nice design, very interesting. Although the head looks a bit odd being so small I think the large and awesome tusks you've concepted will help sell it. And now I have "Elephants on Parade" stuck in my head...great.
I like this idea, but I'm not sure that I'm sold on the way the trunk is connected to the body. It looks too stuck on. When you look at an elephant's trunk you see it has massive muscles that spread out for a huge deal over the skull, specially the typical big bulge on the front of the head.
I think you should go back and see if you can implement that into the way how this trunk connects to the shoulder.
I'd also assume it would have a radically altered shoulderblade to allow for such muscles to connect in a proper (believeable way) Hell, I assume the same would go for the sternum (think of birds sternum and how wing muscles are connected to it).
Other than that, good idea, and shaping up nicely, I like how you incorporated the front legs into the body very much. Weight and bulk of the character are done very well.
Hey Buddy, nice update! Only crit I have is that he feels a little bubbly, where you might want to define and reduce some of the buldge to the muscles. Looking forward to your next update, and still want to see that dragon chick:P
yeah good sculpting but the muscles are a bit hard too read, all a bit lumpy, try flattening and pinching here and there, if possible some skin folds stretching across the muscles maybe.
I miss you Struve. Nice sculpting on the head area. I would agree on the muscles, especially looking at the legs - I think they are perhaps too inflated AND inaccurate. I'd look at elephant and horse muscle groups.
The handle seems to have some sharp edges in it, or at least thats how they're reading -- looks a bit painful for the user. Neat overall design, definitely something that looks like it could incapacitate
i think his muscle sculpts could stand to be a lot more subtle. right now you've got every muscle coming out BAM with the same chiseled depth to their outlines. remember, he's got [some] fat and skin over these muscles that will smooth them out quite a bit, and seeing as he's pachydermal his skill will be extremely thick, softening the look even more. I think he could really benefit from more surface detail [which i know is a final step - the cracks and creases of the skin] and less absolute anatomy-study muscle definition.
Looking good buddy, are you going to put the axe in his trunk hand? As it feels kinda odd sitting on his side. Looking forward to the final shots, ohh and maybe bring that warm to the hands? to help show the flesh throughout.
its coming out well, one thing that I think is really important for this piece is the scale, it would add alot to the piece to have something to measure the size by cause at the moment it could be the size of a small collectable figure
Audi100 – I messed around with the colors some more and I may have gone even darker, hehe
Ged – Thanks, I’ll have to put something on the stand to show his size.

The bottom left head has the most personality by far, I'd lean more in that direction.
i painted a close up of the head.
btw, tusks look great.. hope you can translate that look into 3d!

dur23 - I'm sure there's room for more elephants in this Competition
block out:
Chernobyl- I chose to do a small head to make him appear massive. I believe hes about 10 heads high, haha
Dusty you know Ill be spending some time in that area
Spetch thanks!
little progress...

Spark – Think it fits better in the hand hand. Thanks for the feedback!
Getting closer…
Have to admit though I liked the previous colors on the legs more. Maybe you can tone down the darker (shadow colors?) a bit.
Ged – Thanks, I’ll have to put something on the stand to show his size.
After material pass…
nice material pass man!!!!
Maybe the color of the tusks is a bit too white, I was expecting a yellowish color like the toenails.
maybe this is sacrilige, but I would dampen down the green of the smiley he stands out a lot
