Since time began it was the ability of the children to bring their fantasy to life, this power dies with the puberty. During the last years of war, all strong warriors of the clans died, almost 60% of the planet was destroyed now.
So the elders of the remaining clans decided to train the kids abilities to fight side by side with their parents.
Girls have always been the ones with the strongest fantasy, and there she is, Nia child soldier for tribe of the Earthpeople.
Cute as a button but with the ability to summon the strongest creatures with the power her thoughts.

too bad it's forbidden to build shaders with nodes, everyone working with U3 is fucked then... guess i'll have to take a closer look into crysis' material system, or take a closer look on xnormal, we'll see...

Also, what technological level is her tribe at?
Right now i'm not sure whether to go a more human way or not, right now i tend to do it.
If her summoned creatures are material or imaterial is also unclear, depends on what shaders the allowed engines can give me. So it could be more spiritual or maybe something like rock creatures, summoned from the ground, which adds more depth to the earthbound thing.
But i'm still no fan of this "no shader editing" rule, it binds me to a vertain look, i'm not comfortable with this at all.
really hard for me to start from scratch...
i should do the conceptstuff directly in 3d in zbrush

i decided to better work on the basic 3dcharacter, even though i think the "no premade basemeshes" rule is more then just a little stupid, i made a quick new basemesh, to not hear any complaints about cheating, it would have saved me half an hour and would be way more fun but whatever...

And i think it shouldn't even have to be your basemesh, i mean using arshs basemesh to create something new shouldn't be forbidden. Basemeshmodelling is just a plain waste of time if you've done it several times before. It's nothing that proves anything for a skilled 3d artist and a newbie wouldn't make any better art with or without a premade basemesh...
But however i didn't want to be called a cheater, so i wasted the time for it :P
As for the 2d sketching, i'll do more over her body, having a 3d model in background and not having to think abaut the perspective just helps
still thinking of a way to connect her more to the ground, thought i could create some gloves and boots mde of rock, but didn't find any good realization, and maybe it will look way too heavy for a girl, but otherwise it would twist the design a bit and would give me a better idea of her powers.

@arix: you are totally right, i changed it a bit, but not too much i want it to be still cute and round in shape, it may be already too much now, i liked the older ear more...
and here is an update with her hairs and some other details, damn those dreads where a shitload of work
