Don't listen to the silly person, saggy boobs rock!
My only complaint is she looks a bit too much like a standard RPG heroine. (the later final fantasy games in particular) She could use a little extra oomph. . . something to set her apart from the hordes of sexy swordswomen throughout the kingdom.
haha i wasn't really complaining about the breasts :P i just though that the dress she wears looks like it should push them up more than hanging loose. the dress kinda reminds me of lulu from ff10
Shes looking good, maybe you could try little trinkets and charms attached to her dreads. Also try different noses. I think the outside line of the nostril is a bit to long.
Hey princess, cool to see you joined in as well. I like what you're going for, but I do have the feeling this lady could be a bit more then she is now. I like the face and the feathers. Maybe do more with that?
Hey nice start. Really really like how the hair is sort of pulled back. That is interesting. The face and body paint/deco has potential too. Hard to make out the clothing so far, at the moment it looks too 'standard' apart from the feathers and voodoo head things. I'd make the clothes more distressed but thats just me being morbid as usual
I came up with a weapon. It's a scythe made of a monster bird skull. I imagine it would be used to reap souls, and that spirits could be summoned by tapping it on the ground.
love the ideas you've got going man. i have to agree with the general consensus that everything is too subdued. you could go nuts with the hair, outfit, weapon, etc. i mean, keep the design the same but just add more flare! hair could be way longer and flowing, those feathers on her shoulder could be larger, and the weapon could be WAY larger...just stuff to pop her shape that much more. keep it up though cuz i love your concepts...
I came up with a color scheme for her. I tried to add some gothic and jester elements to it. Anymore changes to the concept will be adressed in 3D, time to push some polies!
The colors are nice, but I think the bird theme could be worked into her a bit more. what about some birdskulls on her gloves? Maybe some small ones in her hair?
Perhaps a feathery crest design on the outside of her forearms? And a stylized shoe with talons on either side of her real foot? I agree you need to push it a bit more.
Feather eyebrows? Perhaps a more specific design for decor on her clothes?
Thanks guys! I will explore those options in 3d. I can keep working on the concept drawing forever, but really need to pace myself and move on. I have enough to go on now.
Love her desing, ithink if yo went a little crazy with the feathers it might make her pop a little more. Still think she looks awesome!! can't wait to see her in 3d
Maybe try giving her darker colored skin. She has almost a North American Indian or African themed outfit and an elongated face with a larger nose. I might also push some silhouette in the feathers, possibly the hair? Might be to heavy on the top with crazy flowing elements. The feet seem just a little boring to me, I would almost like to see some more skin near the bottom of the concept, perhaps around her ankles. Then maybe you could contribute more with the bead motif around there. Keep playing with a few details, but all in all its a pretty strong piece.
I'm still blocking out all the shapes in presculpt form. I want to get all the gear down before going into Zbrush, and after Zbrushing I will use retopologize to make the lowpoly. Then I will further tweak in 3dsmax.
That almost sounds like I know what the hell I'm talking about, but the truth is I never made characters with more than 2500 tris, and they weren't normal mapped either. This is going to be interesting.
Mesh looks good
Nice proportions and volumes.
The face looks really nice from the front view, but a little odd from the side view, I think it's the way her profile angles backwards down to her jaw.
It makes her jaw look very pointy ... I'd probably round out the chin a bit, and pull it up to decrease the space between the bottom of her lips and the bottom of her chin. It's mainly the chin in the side view that doesn't look so nice, I think.
Thanks! I will massage the face in Zbrush for sure. I think that will help me to get a better idea of the final result than an untextured lowpoly model in max.
Can't really find anything to crit. Perhaps the feel need pointing outwards by a tiny fraction? or it could just be the angle of the shot that makes it look like they are almost pointing inwards?
awesome wendy! fucking sweet transition from 2D to 3D! and im a big fan of the dreads! very excited to see how this is going to look zbrushed! get cracking!
Ah yeah, turning out very nice! If that weapon is true to scale then by gods, that's a massive thing, but that's just cool. I say, sculpting time? Bring on the goodness!

Welcome back. I've always liked your style, so I'll be keeping a close eye on your progress. Good luck.
I said tried.
If not then try pulling away from the bliz style a bit.
Birdskulls, talons?
I'll get back to the character tomorrow night.

this nonsensical post brought to you by vodka.
Looking forward to seeing how this translates to 3d, keep hot sauce comming.
Glad to see some more nice female submissions
So yeah, there's some pretty unfashionable loops and uneven poly distribution. I'm not too worried, though, since it's not the final mesh.
The concept looks like she could fit right into Avatar.

keep on

Ignore the "thong" or lack thereof... I didn't model it and simply assigning colors to the body didn't really work either because of the topology.

I like concept very very much!
Good luck man!
Looking very solid. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, great work.
@ Capone: She is indeed very slightly pigeontoed, which I added on purpose because I think it looks cute/feminine, LOL.
I blocked out the weapon as well now:
Lookin forward to the z-brush version.
DWIII Entry
keep going.
