texturing is really coming along nicely. I'd just try to break down all these horizontal lines you have all over the character. Folds aren't responding the same way everywhere
I want to try something special for the colors... It takes time, I already did some attempts, that's not easy at all cause I have lot of colors on the same model. But I want to play with colors, then I'm testing.
I'm not sure people'll like the model... Just wait and see, Im working on
I think with the colors it's looking pretty garish and hard to read so far. The front moreso than the back actually, the back works okay for me. For the front, I would suggest more color separation for the different items, rather than having each color everywhere. I also think the wings don't really color coordinate with the body.
I think a piece tends to work better with a more limited palette of colors. Also, if you're going to have some very eyecatching areas, like the green/pink irridiscent stuff, you'll want some non-busy areas for the eye to rest and also for the eyecatching stuff to stand out. Ironically, if everything is equally eyecatching, nothing stands out, it all gets lost in noise.
I think a good way to see if your design works is by zooming way out, and see if you still have some sort of "large scale" design going, with larger color blocks that stand out.
On a different note, I thought your bugs worked really nicely, but this one is a step too far with the crazy colors, IMHO.
I'm going to have to echo what other people are saying. You have something really cool here, but with all the cloth folds, belt straps, other doodads, and the psychadelic color scheme I can hardly tell whats going on. A more unified color palette would probably fix this.
yeah I have to say I agree with the others, theres just too many bright colours, there are plenty of colours in the wings which could be used as a colour scheme for the rest of the piece, the greens and blues are just really bright and eyecatching and dont seem to fit in to me.
Came up nice in the end, Sama. The extreme asymmetry of the single wing is still a little peculiar, but it could work with a little careful posing. It'd probably be a good idea to weight your base to the left visually to balance things out.
