Thanks guys. Ged, yeah you're right about the shoulder pads. I have worked on the shape more and made it so its not symetrical. Now, I have to give the other areas more love and details. Heres the update:
Thanks guys. Glad to hear you guys all like the new armor and direction. Ok, finished with my concept. Decided to change his weapon.. it was looking too much like predator.. Moving to modeling.
CLEE, I would take a look at how the horns connect to the skull - it seems that the anatomy on those horns is a little bit sketchy. It would help if you actually draw what this guy's skull would look like - then u know exactly where the skin will fold.
anyway, it's looking very solid... keep at it!!!
Agreed with corrosion, I don't see how the anatomy of the horns would work in that position, in essence they are not horns and they are not teeth. I would either move them so they erupt from the skull or make them into teeth that come from the back of the top jaw. As it is his jaw probably wouldn't work.
Clee, maybe taking the horns ( keeping them where they are ) but instead of bringing them into the lower jaw, you continue up and connect them to the side of the head in front of the ear. That way, they still have that "hey come here for a kiss, ...rrriiiiippppp oh sorry I just gouged your lower jaw off" kinda thing, but make it feel more sturdy. Great piece man, love the concept and the basemesh is nice and clean. Can't wait to see the final product.
Thanks guys for your feedback! Yeah, thanks for pointing that out about the horns. Im gonna move it up a little bit while keeping the shape and form like Spark mentioned, so that it is coming from the skull. I will be posting more updates soon.
Looking good, really like his face. I think you need to step down a few levels and work on the main shapes of the arms a bit more, the muscles aren't flowing into each other nicely, and they should be more defined (not bigger) given his low body fat.
Thanks Jaco. Yeah you're right, and thats also what I meant by needing to push harder.. I am gonna go back to those arms and define the muscle structure more. Im also gonna redo the armor engravings. But Im gonna flesh everything out first and then leave the small details for last.
Looking good clee. Its looking a bit odd atm cuz the head is so much more detailed than the rest of the body but that will balance out once you get the details worked in. I've been keeping an eye on your thread
the scythe is pure polywaste, especially if you compare it to the body, i'd remove some polies there and put some more into his hands for better deformation
This looks great. The shape of the shoes seem a little cartoon like compared to the highly realistic rest of this guy. To me they seem slightly out of place at the moment, but once you add a diffuse/ specular and so on it will probably resolve this. I really like your progress thus far, keep it up.
Yup, the shoes seem very low poly. You are near the limit, but you could pull a loop out of the left shoulder, and you could weld up the middle of the skirt at the bottom and use alpha for that.
Thanks guys.. Finally posting my texture work. I am still gonna go in and touch up some of the specmap and put some more polish touches on some areas. Then moving onto the pedestal and posing.. Looks like I will be able to finish this time, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel )))

The rest is coming along awesome, nice work.
I'm so not going to place this year POLYCOUNT FTW
so now show us some textures
i would put in some more slight color varaitons on the skin
and the ice (?) Weapon looks too boring and obvious.. i gues its ice or lightning and only bc its blue
maybe there is a better and more interesting way to show the power?!
