ok Cryptic Studios wants to phone interview me for a job,
what all should i expect them to ask,
i live in dallas,tx area now and would have to move to ca,
anyone have any good tips,
Thanks,Chris
They'll probably ask you things like what are your favorite games, where do you get inspiration, are you willing to relocate, etc. Make sure you really know what the company has done in the past and what they're currently working on and show enthusiasm. Beyond that, just be yourself, they want to know exactly who they're going to be working with. Good luck!
They read these forums it's too late, you've already lost.
Just kidding about the lost part.
Be yourself, be prepared to talk shop about workflow and such and have some questions of your own.
If you're talking to an art director don't start asking about their benefits package, etc, stay focused on the topics brought up in the interview and don't ask questions the interviewer couldn't reasonably be expected to answer.
Don't mention salary in the phone interview.
Don't get too nervous! They're trying to find someone they want to work with, and you should be thinking the same way. Be open and speak freely, show you're interested, that you know what you're talking about, and that you aren't a super smug douchebag and you'll be fine.
aim your questions at finding what your average week would be like.
find out if you would be happy working there. who is your boss? will you be able to work well with that person? what will you be doing? how much will you be paid? how long will you be expected to work? how do they deal with crunch, try to find out if the job is right for you.

Also seconded.
I took my phone interview in a car, and I was asleep waiting for work to be done on our Barracuda before the call, so I was totally groggy for the first few minutes. You probably cant do much worse than that for pre-phone interview setup.
hey thanks for the help,
the interview went real smooth,
they liked what they heard,
i will be given an art test tomorrow thru email,
they give me a week to finish it,
