that is definitely some awesome crafting work. probably the best real world halo armor i've seen.
on the third page of the thread there is a picture of a mannequin in the under suit of the armor. looks to be in the same pose as the armored pictures, my guess femininely posed mannequin.
I think that's just the mannequin that's wearing the suit... you see it later in the thread with the undersuit on... that's some bitching work... I always loved the look of real models and stuff over CG
seriously, i will never think a guy dressed up in motorcross gear is cool, its not futuristic and its not military, its redneck, backwoods country fried retarded.
Technically, it's very damn impressive. But honestly, why does everyone keep making goddamn Halo armor? Other games have great armor too! It's really not that exciting when its the jillionth person showing off HAY GUYZ IM MASTAR CHIEF TOO NOW!

I've always had the same beef with the Halo designs, but this is great work nonetheless and it looks much less like an extreme paintballer/motorcross guy than Master Chief.
I'm not sure to get it right. Is this supposed to be a male armor? The head proportions, the pose and even the modelled boobs scream female. So I'd say, if intended so, thats neeat, otherwise that's kindof lame right?
Damn do you guys just hate halo all together? I thought the costume was pretty well constructed and bad ass and figured I would share it and since it's not Master Chief it is different.
Yeah there are some cool costumes from other games. What should people make besides Halo armor? Oh yeah a Madden player would be cool...or better yet maybe someone like an alien or soldier type from an alternate reality world war 2 based game. Oh wait that wouldn't be cool either.

awesome suit! crafted around a female mannequin or a femmy guy, WTF cares.. still awesome craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Exactly my point. It is an amazing piece made by one person not some major company. It's cool to see stuff like this. I think it's cool to see something that we as game artists work on be loved so much that these guys will spend every waking minute making these pieces of armor.
I don't think anyone here disagrees about the armor being well executed and showing impressive craftmanship! I personnaly think it would be even greater if labeled 'Female Halo suit'... and even MORE awesome if the design was completely original and made from scratch with no relation to an existing IP.

It's for a school project. I expect he was required to develop from an existing concept/source material, the way a real prop designer would, as that's significantly harder than prototyping your own designs.

but yeah, badass work. looks like a female, given those sassy poses?
Would imagine it is female, or that's the faggiest helmet evar!
As much as I don't like Halo, that's some badass work

Agreed. Just the way this person is standing and their build makes me think female or very feminine dude.

WIP Iron Man costume
papercraft + resin = halo armor
I'm going to try and use that papercraft technique to build some crazy looking housings for my circuit bending projects
Lots of really cool studio scale models.
