hello.
Im starting Yun character from Street Fighter 3, but in a realistic style. One change tho, i didnt make him chinese like, because all concepts i found from him doesnt have a chinese eye, so i decided to not make him chinese. Head is already done, im going to the body

Heres an Udon version of him where he does actually look appropiately oriental, if only for interest sake.

Anyway, your version is looking rather nice though the wording on his cap is back to front. Are you going to keep his distinctly Chinese costume as it was?

looking forward to seeing the body
just my thought..
real awesome though!
there should be a street fighter with THESE graphics mwaha!
Just a note; I don't think its the texture of what I'm seeing.. the centre line on the yellow of the cap - the vertices don't look joined..
this is supposed to be a _realistic_ Yun... not a realistic american fighter... so YUN is oriental, not occidental... see? so technically, its not realistic already... ha!
and im not complaining... jus suggesting.. rather asking, why not keep him oriental?
ive got no problem with eastern things being westernised.. if anything, id prefer it... its the only way the eastern cultures tend to get any exposure [eg im sure if it wasnt for shogun total war, some ppl in this world would still be clueless about sengoku]
Thanks for the comments.
I have follow this concept for the head, hat is a little bit different tho, but its more like trying to catch the silhouete and making a realistic guy, not that i want exactly like Yun, but i will try to follow the costumes closely.
Jackablade: Hey, thanks for the comments, yes, i will follow the costumes. Thanks for that draw, i didnt see this one.
thnom: yeah, i forgot to kill that seams, the edges are welded, its just showing UV seams there, all hat is mirrorred.
indian_boy: Heh, yeah, well, I know you are right about that, but heh, it will take a time to make a different eye now tho, there is no certain decision i made about making him oriental or not, i just tried to follow more this image above.
for those who dont know what im talking about

Thanks for the comments buddy.
Btw, happy new year to you all.
Happy new year to you too :P
ThatDon: Yeah buddy, you are right, I think its because I have bake the occlusion map and then it turned dark, i will fix that, thanks!
Btw,it looks perfect
Careful with the white of the eye, you might want to add the eyelid dropshadow ... tricky area huh? Also be sure to add the 'wetline' at the junction between the eyeball and the lower eyelid, it will work great I think.
2000yearsoldman: Yeah, i do think so, but im so lazy to change that part, heh
pior: heh, yeah, thanks for the tip, the only thing that worries me is the rotation of the eyes, but i will take a look on it
soulstice: me too! heh
danpants: thanks man!
Mtg_kirin: yes, pants is something i still need to make some changes. thx!
Still, modeling is cool. I really dig those pants, although the shoes look a little plain, form wise, next to them.
Maybe i should change the subject of this post.
Thanks again.
One question about the shoes : I did a couple mudboxed shoes in the past and I am wondering how you took care of the shoelaces - ie the way you managed to sculpt them so that they go out of the small rings, then over the side flap or whatever it's called, without noticeable 'ztwisting'. Or maybe these are separated/extracted meshes?
These shoes will look sooo nice with the proper amont of AO and color... For some reason realtime normalmapped shoes are like the coolest thing to work on
I made a better pants update, more realistic lines.
Great progression.

thanks alot.
i think the pants look a bit weird 'cause they are so bottom heavy right now, either beef it up overall, or slim it down at the bottom imo.
Tim: dude, that means alot to me, thanks, i saw your Sarge days ago, i wanna be like you.
