Looks great, this is how comic book, cartoons, favorite monsters/aliens, and video game based movies need to be made, with respect to the fans and not milked for cash. Looking forward to this.
Yeah, much better than I expected. Last one was very steampunkish, this one not so much, so negative points in that direction... but still looks like a fun watch.
Secraurs, your avatar is an anus. what the hell man.
Should be good, Hellboy was an enjoyable movie if lacking in substance, Del Toro has done some fantastic work and it seems like they've given him more of a free rein on this project.
Del Toro = monsters with eyes where you wouldn't expect eyes
Is that Johann Kraus from the B.P.R.D. series? They could do some cool stuff with him. It looks like a fun watch just like the last one.
I would love to see the B.P.R.D. series turned into a mini series. It would be cool to see Odd Jobs and Odder Jobs turned into a TV series. It would be Supernatural/X-files meets Tinman. Scratch that it would bomb hard because I'm the only guy that would watch it, the rest of the world would think its a failure because TV/movie translations almost always suck. Good luck getting Del Toro quality out of TV directors on a small budget, its too big of a risk for any network to take a chance on. I bet any network would muck it up by strangling any creative freedom anyone tried to express. The bigger the risk, the harder they choke.
at the risk of sounding like a super fanboy, i think hellboy series with joss whedon at the helm (if he likes the character) as a mega hit. well.. as long as they don't go with fox.
I liked the first one, it just seemed like it fizzled out fast and you don't hear too much about it other than the occasional blip on the internet. I'm glad to see a part 2
i love hellboy but del toro's take on the whole story seemed to smother a lot of what made hellboy special in a lot of generic superhero flavored mayo. not sure if i'll go see the second. hellboy is a comic; whatever happened to properties that stayed in their natural domain?
How do you figure the superhero mayo, gauss? I didn't get that vibe. I think the only thing I really didn't like about the first film was HB's teenage angst crap with Liz. The comics work best when they show HB's blue-collar, lunch pail personality - he's a working class Joe who just happens to be a demon. His pining away for Liz, writing notes and stalking her... that didn't work for me. The rest of the flick felt pretty spot on.
the fish guy is dope! he was my fav in the first one. hope he gets a bigger part in this one! that fire chick sucked. that whole "hit me!....you should be running" cmon, thats so lame. i like cheesy lines, but in context, not when they are trying to be serious. it just ruins it for me.
yup that's definatley johan, though im kinda not sure how he'll go with this retro, diver-suitish character design - i'd love to see how they depict his ectoplasm abilities...
needs more of roger the homucumulus..
liz looks like a bloomin bikie - she's meant to be all depressed and emo-ish and deceptivley 'vunerable' untill she busts out her pyrokenisis...she looks butch, meh.
love the fairies - in all the companion books, the fairies are all badass and evil - laying eggs in kidnapped people and stealing children for their youthful bone marrow - hence the myth of the 'tooth fairy' and why they eat your childs nutricious milk tooth. conspiracy..duh duh dahhhh!
i'm ranting like a fanboy
woot! the more tentaces and frog monsters the better.
