It's just being started, tell me what you think and what I can work on besides.. filling it up with stuff, it's going to have bamboo everywhere... I just need to pick up the pace.... Discuss, please!
You are obviously a roadie eh? You need more bmx/mtn stickers IMO.
parts in the case, hubs, rings, cranks, bars...
wheels hanging from ceiling. Bikes all over of course, deffinately a bike in the stand and some rags and tools on counter top, bottle of oil on the stand tray (which should be fairly thin, too thick right now.
Stickers on stand.
Coffee pot and mugs. Bike posters/ads on walls.
Work tickes, wall slots for work tickets, cash register, deffinately a radio. I would've never survived 12 years as a wrench without some good tunes.
That should keep you going or make you give up.. Basically right now it looks like it used to be a shop but the owner had a hard time keeping up with costs and had to close down (Which is fairly realistic in it's own right)
Cool choice for a local though, I'm looking foward to seeing where it goes.
I can already tell it's some sort of grimy shop/garagey-type of a place so it's definitely on the right track. And if you add more of what Baddcog suggests, it's only going to get better.
I don't know if this would be an accurate thing to have in a bike shop, but I would like to see the lighting kind of dark and dingy (like maybe it's be a really crappy industrial building in a bad part of town).
And maybe one or two cardboard coffee cups scattered here and there with accompanying coffee stains?
I didn;t mention before but I modeled a full suspension bike along time ago when I was first getting into modelling.
I found it very useful to go to bike company websites like Trek, Kona, ect... and get the side shots of the different models. an easy way to get an accurate model built.
I used a hayes disc rotor with alpha map, ect...
You probably know this anyway.
you guys have given me awesome feedback, So this is going to be for my portfolio. to hopefully get an environment artist job... do you think that so far it is too lowpoly? Cause I want people to think that I have potential(which I do) as an artist. What would you all suggest? -Travis
Ideally everything you do should be geared towards your portfolio besides just learning outcomes...I think this sceen still has a long way to go and once you reach this to a level of finish you're in good hands.
Keep us updated...perhaps with some reference to what you're hoping to get?

Anyway, my two cents.
Good start!

It'd also be nice to add some posters, sponsor banners to go along with the stickers.
This scene has fair potential and all...keep us updated
It'd also be nice to add some puddles,

Well, I'd like to think that we always cleaned up our puddles in a timely manner But stains from puddles, that's another matter.
