max viewport update on texture save?

so, let's say you've got max running on one monitor and photoshop running on the other...you save your psd in photoshop and glance over to the model you're texturing in the max viewport and, for me, it sometimes updates immediately and sometimes i have to click back in the viewport to make the update happen. the issue is the same, i think, when i do a save-as tga approach.

i was just wondering if anyone knows how to get the max viewport to update every time i save my texture in photoshop without having to pop over to max every time (gets tedious after hours and hours and days and days...)
