hi all!
there is my (wip) version of the old Monster Mind, vehicle character from the old "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" TV Show...
This is a "fan" tribute for a incredible concept who made me dream when I was a kid
.
Don't hesitate to say what you think about it...

The "flow" of the wood turned out really nice, just those cut off stumps don't quite fit into it...the look not as if they could have been a part of the tree before beeing cut off.
...And for the Culture, here is the opening of the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1c1G24GWDg
probly never heard of it cause its from the 80's
Yep this is zbrush (3.1), and I use maya for a little low poly 1st.
The technique is simple:
I use the stich1 brush with an alpha like alpha58 in subtraction (you can also use tracks1 which is originally substractiv). Using it in multiple draw size and intensity simulate the fractal bases of natural things.
I hope you can understand my English :>
Good call on the show too-- I used to love it as a kid but could never remember the name-- I remember owning coloring books and a couple other things when I was young, but all that's lost now..
Here is the final version of the main element..

I dont want to change the shape or the concept mainly becose I have already my 4000 tris with the weels and everything, and becose Im at school where the dead-line to finish this is this monday!
A night could be enough! ...
Many thanks for your comments, but I have a bad news: I failed to finish for the dead line... I had many zbrush crashes and technical problems that I finally resolve 1h just before the dead line
So the good news is that I can take more time to finish this well!
zenarion : or both! - he said "YOU LOSER!"

Looking great keep at it!
Thats a cool technique for doing the bark pattern, thanks for sharing!
