Looks great and looking forward to the texture.
If you want to optimise the lowpoly I'd probably look at the lower leg straps first, you've got a lot of polys there adding detail that the normal map should be doing, not a whole lot of noticeable silhouette from some of those (obviously don't get rid of all the straps silhouette there though!).
Monkey looks great, have fun with texturing.
also, this is fackin awesome
he feels like he needs a comically disproportionate sidekick, like a fat sumo monkey... or maybe a faithful steed that's really just a pig or a boar or something. I don't know. He's got a ton of character, great work renaud.

The way you've modeled the straps from the bandana seems a little odd to me - wouldn't it be easier to have them straight out when it comes to rigging?

Piotr: dunno. I don't have Mud, I use Silo. Silo has some kind of sculpting thing, but I'm not sure about how well it works.. gotta try it out..
I love the feel of the skin but what is going on with his belly, no muscles, its just flat skin! Atleast give him a belly button!

Maybe because not enough cloth overlaying near the legish area or more armor, entire character is uber awesome but still feels more ninja

my only crit is concerning the belly..everywhere else the muscles are very obvious, but on that area no abs can be seen.. the sculpt seems to let feel he got some fat, it's all smooth there but, he doesn't look that fat at all..
good start on the diffuse on the face.. !
style of texture of face reminds Maddam's works to me.

I hope it's possible to add patches fuzz to the guy, on his cheeks, torso, forearms, toes, fingers...

The specular of the eyes is almost white, I think that my light setup isn't very appropriate for this region, I would need a cube map for these kind of details. I Still need to work a bit on the fur either but I did a test with the beard to motivate myself

Its a very cool character except these wooden shoe things, he has some monkeys feets so he could grab on branches and stuff and make some cool kungfu moves with them but with these blocky wooden things i dont know.
the sandal strap does seem loose, it's the first thing that caught my eye. the other thing was the tribal chest tattoo; it just strikes me as thin and spidery next to the swirling billowy dragons...look at japanese tattoos that continue from the chest to the upper arm.
would be cool also if the tattoos accented the anatomy instead of flowing randomly around it.
nitpicking obviously. it's a stylistic choice, completely up to you. :-) this model is hot!
Can't wait to see the final pose. I'm having a hard time reading the monkey from him but i think a good pose should clear all that up.
