UT3 Specs released

Figured some folks would be interested.

"Midway and Epic Games have released the system requirements for Unreal Tournament III.

According to an announcement made today, the multiplayer first-person shooter will run best on a machine with a 2.4+ GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of system RAM, an NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ video card and 8 GB of hard drive space, running Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista.

Minimum system requirements for the game are a 2.0+ GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of system RAM, NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ video card and 8 GB of hard drive space."

Pretty good! At least it's nowhere near as bad as Shadowrun or Stranglehold.
Seems fairly similar to the ETQW min/rec spec actually.

Yeah they aren't bad but I hope it's not the situation where it looks like crap without the latest and greatest.

ETQW demo ran fine on my PC at 1024x768 with an amd 3500+ 2GB ram and Geforce6800GT and everything quite high, if I can do similar in UT3 I will be more than happy.

Only problem is motion blur, why doesnt that work properly for me in most games?

wierd , etqw demo is killing me with 2600+ , 1gb ram , x1950gt at lowest setting. rarely go over 20 fps , generally around 10 etc :S and i dont have any hope for ut3, crysis etc ofc , bah need a new system...

I'm impressed, was expecting higher requirements than that (to "run best" as they say). Really looking forward to it and the editor, gotta find somewhere here that will be selling the collector's edition.

Tiax...you might want to add a gig of ram to that. I have the same card as Ged on a lowly p4 2.8c and I get decent fps' too. That extra gig keeps access times low, which is good when you have a lot of textures onscreen.

I have a P4 2.6 with 1 gig of ram and an ATI 9800 Pro. I think it's getting about time to upgrade.

found the problem right after posting that lol , fixed now and its far better. another gig ram would be nice ofc but i dont have slots on mainboard atm , anyway ; i'm planing to change whole system around january. still i can play with ut3's editor with ths systme prob , rest doesnt matter

Promises will be kept, this is the most optimized UT we've ever made. I think the coders mentioned you can run on cards that came out when UT2003 did, which was quite a while ago.

It will come will all the tools and toys you normally want.

It does run really well with min and recommended specs.

Hope you lot like it, I suck at playing it but I had an absolute blast making it and I got a significant amount of ownership over my area which was a really rewarding experience.

Per: You vehicles still look F'ing amazing, I think you will be happy with how they sound too.

I'll be curious to hear what you think of the Necris environments, I think they are UT's proudest hour..... so far!
