I haven't posted here in ages (and under a different alias) but I thought it would be funny to see some of people's models / textures / etc... that they once thought were awesome, but are terrible in hindsight.
For starters, I'll post two of my old models and a new one for comparison:
And for comparison, a model I worked on just yesterday:
I just do this casually and still have a long way to go, but I noticed my modeling skills improved A TON when I learned how to draw better. The difference between these models is about 5-6 years, between old and new.
Let's see what you've got.
If anyone is curious, I have a few other old / new models mixed together here:

but...here's one that was made probably around late 2003 early 2004, I know it was before Doom 3 was released, so it was when normal maps were relatively new.
and I remember being damn proud of it too, mostly because it was my first attempt at normal maps.
I was really proud of the result for about an hour after I finished it, and then Johny and Fred and B1ll told me I sucked, and I started studying more seriously
SupRore - I reckon that's pretty awesome for only an hour

no, I mean, I spent an hour being proud of it. Painting the texture must've taken two or three, which was way to little to spend for a competition, but I was new to this and thought painting anything was ART!. Lemme edit the post and clarify
Edit: Also, I second Jackablade. If those are your worst, what's your good work like?
.......
He's the young version of a character I created my freshman year of high school...the model was made in early '06, a couple months before I bought Maya...
this guy LOL.
Look at those proportions.
gradually got more "realistic" and stylised.
yeesh!
ohhhhh yessir!

JED fuck yeah!

Superpeon: don't let it get to you, they just *want you to say "oooh, you were always so goood", much like people who say "only spent 3 minutes on this, what do you think lol"

hahaha, pea you suck =P jk
I spent 3min on this and didn't even open Max!
ok more like 3 weeks, I can't believe I ever worked in tri's only... yesh...
it looks ok in maya and milkshape but absolutely horrible in game i have done way worse but don't have the models /screenshots no more
(Oh, on a quick off-topic note. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I sat for a while looking at your website, wondering what the heck you meant by "LEVELDESIGNER 27/37 ARTIST". That font really makes "D" look like "7"..)
i actually had the pleasure of finding the .max file of my very first model ever. it was on a backup disc i made of my 3ds max directory a long time ago.
though i wasn't exactly proud of it, but it was a start. enjoy
Since the overall quality of models in this thread is too good, I felt the need to post some more of my terrible creations. Enjoy!
so old, so old. yes, thats milkshape :P apparently in 2001 i thought everything looke better with MORE VENTS.
this includes Nero, my first character, Batman, The Stampede Gun from Trigun, my killer claw tank, and my first car which I named "The Caddy Killer," though it could have been killed by much less.
yea I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to update my website if im posting this crap in here
haha
doh
aniceto: Whoa! You've really come a long way sense this character, when did you make him?
I figure its probably unfair for me to post and then not show any of my old work, so here's the first character I ever did from start to finish (model, unwrap, texture), and the concept art it was based off of. Its about two years old at this point.
One of my first 3D characters that I was actually proud of. It was meant to be a UT2k3 character, but I lost the model with the final texture to a hard drive crash or something. This WIP shot is all that's left. I've been wanting to re-work this dude for some time. I might give it a go and try get it cranking in UT3 when its released.

This was my first completed character model (in quake 2 evolved).
I was so proud of myself hehe
and these are my second and third completed models...
Sadly the only other model I finished was my dom war entry, since then I havn't had as much time as I need to get a project done
My first fully-fledged prop. I'm sure there are some #model_designers that remember it, but I don't recall showing it here. It hasn't exactly stood the test of time.
I WILL MAKE THIS WHOLE PLANET SUFFER!!!
its defenetly bad^^
My first attempt at an Orc Head - Honestly I don't know how I even created this abomination
My second attempt; I don't even know what the hell is going on here.
My first try at a human head - Just look at that nice clean topology. Creative Edgelooping FTW
The first texture I ever created, it was for a dragon model I made - Go AutoMatic Unwrap + Projection Paint, Go!
Funny to think these are only 4-5 years old, hehe!

I was desperate...
I think this was in max 4, I thought this was cool haha.
Hmm, transparent lava mech... I need to go talk to a designer, we should use that...
