Hey gang, new member here, I'm getting into the 3d modeling and animation field here in NC, I hope I can learn something from all you experienced members here.
I'm currently undertaking the Simulation and Game Design program here at the community college here in Albemarle NC

Well welcome aboard. you should be able to learn a lot from everyone here. I know even some of the seasoned vets learn new things from the newer guys. Always a lot to be learned.

Just a word of advice take comments and crits with a grain of salt and don't let them hurt your feelings. Some of us aren't the best with "manners" at times but we all mean well, for the most part.

Welcome to polycount, Joe, make yourself comfy. Observe local customs, post some crits (and your own works in progress!) and you shouldn't have any trouble fitting in. Don't mind some of the grumpier regulars Reminds me, I keep needing to finish that newcomer guide I was writing...

Yeah, its kind of a "Midas Touch" thing. I mean, what happens when it rains? Or what happens if you chuck a Gremlin into the ocean? Theoretically, the unchecked reproduction would smother the entire planet.

You'll learn more from posting progress and entering challenges here at polycount, than you will from that community college out in Middleofnowhere, NC. But it's a start and you've found the right forum.

Consider the option of moving to the Raleigh area to improve your future job opportunities. If you move out of the state, you'll have to change your name.

Yeah you will see some stuff like this from time to time. Sometimes people are joking...others well it depends on the topic really.

I know I have said some things out of line and I have tried to "own" up to them. I think we sometimes forget that this is just a forum and we can't see peoples real emotion or faces when we are telling a joke or being sarcastic.

Sometimes things can be rather entertaining around here.
