Raven Software, developer of numerous award winning games, including Quake IV, X-Men Legends 1 & 2, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, is seeking passionate, motivated, and experienced 3D environment artists.

Job duties include:

•Develop 3D prop and modular environment models from concept thru production
•Develop textures and skins for models
•Assist with other art tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

•2+ years experience in developing prop and modular environment models, textures, and skins or Mod community experience with a substantial 2d and 3d portfolio
•Ability to construct and elaborate on environments and objects based on key reference or concepts
<ul type="square"> oBuildings, terrain, interiors, weapons, etc.
oAbility to model a designer’s schematic into a robust, populated environment[/list]
•Experience working with multi-pass shader effects
<ul type="square"> oDiffuse maps, specular maps, bump maps, normal maps, etc [/list]
•Experienced with managing polygon count and texture budgets
•Solid traditional art skills
•Good people skills and the ability to excel in a creative and positive manner
<ul type="square"> oAbility to work well with the Sr. Artists and designers and meet functional, technical, and aesthetic goals.
oAbility to work with designer and other artists on all aspects of 3D environment content ranging from modeling and texturing to exporting the asset into the game. [/list]
•Knowledgeable in Maya, 3DS Max, or similar tools for high and low poly modeling
•Proficient in Photoshop / Experience with Zbrush and/or Mudbox
•Experience with Doom 3 Editor, Unreal Editor, or similar tools
•Portfolio showing multiple samples of models/textures assembled as a scene
<ul type="square"> oModels should include high poly, low poly, and all texture passes (including normal maps) [/list]
The ideal candidate will also have:

•Experience working on next-gen projects in the videogame industry
•Per pixel lighting experience, and thorough understanding of performance optimization a plus.
•Shader writing experience
•Experience working on AAA, shipped titles as a 3D artist
•Strong understanding of architecture a plus
•Vehicle/character modeling experience
•Concept design/illustration including lighting or color keys
•Experience with atmosphere, detail texturing, and skyboxes/skydomes
