Nerve Software is seeking a motivated, energetic individual with Conceptual Art experience.
The company, founded in 2001, is a Dallas-based independent developer focused on the production of superior video gaming. The company is committed to the creation of visually engaging worlds and exciting gameplay for a variety of platforms. Nerves releases include Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War for Xbox, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil for the PC and Xbox, as well as the 2006 release of the classic original DOOM for Xbox 360.
Nerve is currently working on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the Xbox 360.
Concept Artist Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional conceptual art experience
- Portfolio should include digital format examples of quality, full color high resolution concept artwork
- Candidate should exhibit ability to:
- create convincing images from written descriptions
- create anatomically correct images of human beings
- create imaginative images of non human creatures and fantastic beings, draw/paint objects, vehicles, and prop pieces in a variety of themes (such as fantasy, sci-fi, etc)
- Candidate should be proficient with Adobe Photoshop and/or Corel Painter
- Modeling ability in 3ds Max or other 3d software a major plus
- Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills

3D Modeler Qualifications:
2+ years experience modeling prop and modular environment models, textures, and skins
Ability to construct environments and objects from reference or concepts
Experience working with multi-pass shader effects
Solid traditional art skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills in a team environment
Knowledgeable in 3DSMax, or similar tools, for high and low poly modeling
Proficient in Photoshop, Zbrush and/or Mudbox
Portfolio showing multiple samples of models/textures
