Why do all my childhood memories have to be reserved to me as steaming piles of shit?! A script for a Thundercats movie has been optioned. Let's hope that things don't get any further along then that. This was MY cartoon. Other peeps here were aligned to GI Joe, Transformers, Voltron... for me it was Thundercats.

They are so gonna fuck this up.

If I were making the movie, I would use real life cats (Lion/ Cheetah/Panther/Tiger/Snarf) and just CG their mouths. Or go even cheaper and peanut-butter them up.

I remember watching the Transformers movie as a kid and loved it and cried when Optimus died (hahaha fag!). But picked it up on dvd not too long ago and couldn't stand it! Made it about 3/4 of the way through before I switched it off.
In comparison, I'm actually looking forward too seeing what Michael Bay comes up with.

Yeah re-visiting cartoons from your childhood isn't always a good idea (better to keep your memories as they were). One cartoon I can still watch, is Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets). I remember seeing this trailer for a proposed new series or film and was quite disappointed when it didn't eventuate.

LOL!!! Sadly that's staying pretty true to the source material. They're gonna change so much with this movie... maybe instead of cats they'll be dogs and snarf will be a robot. Cheetara will obviously be a human that they bump into. Her mom was a slut and her dad is a cheetah (that's how she runs fast). Panthro better be bad-ass in the movie... i mean he has nunchucks and he drives the thundertank (which also better be badass).

This could work...but only if it was animated. A live-action Thundercats film is just a disaster waiting to happen. Think about it. Who is going to want to go see a live-action film of cat people, who fight beast people? Now, are you really going to want to be in the same darkened theatre with that "kind" of spectator?
