High quality character animation is one of the foundations of an immersive and realistic game experience. The ideal candidate lives and breathes animation, and is able to quickly and efficiently turn around high quality work. We're looking for animators that know they can help bring our project to life and enjoy working in a relaxed, highly collaborative atmosphere. On-site full-time and on-site contract positions are available.
As a character animator, you will be responsible for:
...animating the movement cycles of NPC's and Hero Characters
...animating unique in-game cut-scene sequences
...frequently communicating with the character rigger to maintain an efficient animation workflow
...helping define animation styles for each unique character class
A character animator applicant MUST have:
...character animation experience in the game industry on a shipped title
...proficiency with Maya's animation system
...strong problem-solving skills
...the ability to be a self-starter/motivator
...the focus and determination to set personal deadlines and meet monthly benchmarks
...above all else, thorough knowledge of first person shooters and a passion for games.
A character animator applicant SHOULD show:
...the ability to rapidly create quick prototypes as well as high quality cinematic animations
...a strong knowledge and understanding of human anatomy
...a keen eye to the subtle nuances in human locomotion
...experience with facial animation
...excellent verbal and written communication skills
...a solid foundation of character rigging skills and various control setup styles and techniques
Even better yet, a character animator would have:
...a strong portfolio of traditional art and animation skills
...a desire and knowledge to help define & direct the capabilities of the game engine's animation system
