Diablo 3 for PC & consoles, borrowing from Guild Wars 'massively online' strategy. Thus owning both sides of the massively online market (the free and the subscribed) Callin' it now!

If I might wear my Snopes hat for a moment, its a rumour derived from several disperate news sources, one of which is pretty dubious. Far too much conclusion leaping going on around the web for my liking.

The evidence points towards the possibility of a Starcraft MMO but that certainly doesn't make it necessarily so.

yeah i bet its sc2 as well, and it probably will have some stretegic elements to it + heavilly online based, i don't see it being such a big competitor for wow if its a totally different kind of game. its not like star craft was ever competing with warcraft and they were both strategy games, i'm pretty sure they can pull off having 2 mmos out, and yeah by the time it comes out lots of people are going to be burned out on wow and going to want to play something else, and hey here's a brand new mmo we got check it out, before you know it all those 8-9 mil people migrate.

why can't it be a mmo rts? you start off with a small group of soldiers, and as you level up, your army grows and you move on from small skirmishes to full on planetary and space combat.

Im sick of MMO because you have to pay for it over and over like a bad rash that wont go away. Id much prefer a decent RTS game with normal online capabilities that I can pay for once and then enjoy freely.

Blizzard's been hiring people for a next-gen MMO, so if this announcement isn't World of Starcraft then there is probably going to be a World of Diablo later on. They've got too much life left in their franchises to introduce any new IP.

Personally I think a straight RTS Starcraft 2 is most likely, given how successful the original was (is). I just hope they keep it from going down the Warcraft 3 path. Massing hydras > boring micromanagement

For now, I think they'll bust out a Blizzard logo and a black screen that says "Starcraft 2" with 10 seconds of CG that isn't representative of at the game at all, whatsoever.

Thing is, I hope it's SC:Ghost for Next gen consoles. 360.

When i played it at e3 it was fun as hell, so pissed that they scraped it.

either that or a Starcraft MMO for consoles, im sure they could find a way to make it amazing.

diablo 3 would be tight too but hellgate london is coming soon, and its being made by the main guys who made diablo anyway so D3 is kinda /shrug to me compared to SC games

They are updating the timeline each day until the information is released. While I'm sure it will probably be a starcraft game, the timeline doesn't necessarily indicate anything.
