Quick update. Working on a concept in silo now so this is not final by any means just getting some ideas going and will be doing a paintover. I'll start the actual modeling after I get some other projects wrapped up.
Thanks for the comments Japhir. I agree and am dropping the orb. It was a placeholder till I organized my thoughts and figured out what I really wanted there. I want to have energy bolts erupting from the top points there into a glowing engergy ball that would blast enemies like the Death Star.
Not sure how I can model as I would use some sort of emitter in game. So I will just skip that for now.
To me the rook is like an attack tower in an RTS. This should come across better when I go over the concept again this evening.
Redid the model. Feeling good about the look though not quite sure about the lower third of the center part. Seems a bit skinny but making it thicker doesnt make me feel any better.
Good idea Japhir. I have something like that on a hidden layer but I wanted to dial it in more. Studying some various enviro pieces on CA.org to get some ideas for fine tuning it.

Changed up some from the concept after studying some more and drawing sketches. working on window ideas right now. Thinking of doing an inset arch vs staight up arch but going to hit the hay now. Worked 2 jobs today.
I wont be able to make the deadline on this one. Other projects have taken over my time. Remodeling a room, sanding and staining the deck mostly springtime projects around the house that need to get done in a timely manner.
What is the etiquette though for continuing on? I plan to finish so can I update this thread?
On the upside going to see a live rare John Stewart comedy performance on Friday night!!!! Hells yeah!
