They updated the site so I guess I'll post this. This is the Empire stealth class for Nuclear Dawn.
Comments and crits appreciated but it's kinda... uh... done. So whatever you crit will be applied to the next model
If your wondering, there's still plenty of stuff to get done on ND so if you're any good at what you do and you're interested in helping out you can shoot me an email. I'm sure we can find something for you to do
WOW this is really top notch stuff. The lower half is really amazing. The normals came out beautiful on the low poly and you have a great silhouette. The straps are awsome; photorealsitic to me. The only crit that i can muster up is for the texture. The grime on the white armor bits is to evenly spread out. Maybe make it a little more blotchy on the areas more exposed to wear and tear. Its really being nit picky though. This is awsome work. GJ
Mr. Jones, this sir, is incredible! Really nice cloth folds, armor is great, gah, I'll find something to crit!
I'm a huge ND fanboy, so I'm also extremely excited to hear that its development is still progressing nicely. I heard Jonathan Smars took over the project lead role some time ago.
If I could crit anything, I'd say it'd be the lack of paint (even small strips in some other key locations would add some extra interest to the armor). Just my 2 cents
It looks great. The normal maps really show a lot of detail, and the textures are wonderful. I don't think I would have chosen the white color scheme, as it doesn't carry across as metal very well, but it looks phenomenal, regardless.
Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the finished mod.
lovely. my only complaint would be that you shouldve stuck a bit closer on the actual head design.
technically this is magnificent work and seamlessly fits in with the rest of the ND chars. maybe you'll have to update the texture on the consortium stealth now
The eyeballs and eye sockets seem very dense compared to the rest of the model, especially considering the texture is almost pure black so the smooth curves are lost.
love the texture, the model seems a bit deformed, specially the hands and i agree with what has been said here , but damn...great to see nuclear dawn pimpage !
Looks very nice, I disagree on the white, I think it looks great! I would suggest adding noise to the specular levels. The one thing I really just don't like is the orange blade, and not really a fan of that laser on the forehead.. otherwise, superb!
saw this when they put it on the website, I wonder how it will look ingame.. is it already implemented? if so.. could we get a sneak peak of it ingame. :>
Thanks for all the comments. Most of the features will get tweeked a little to fit our existing rig. As far as the color, he's gotta be white to fit with the other classes. I'm working on the first person arms for this class at the moment so I'll keep these comments in mind. Thanks again!
Great character. The details in the cloth are especially nice. Buddy: It seems as if the concept art section is down at the moment. Not to highjack this thread, but I'm also curious as to how long it should take to construct a next gen character like this when working in a professional environment.
Consider throwing a little more subtle color and hues in the texture to break the monochrome look. I stress subtle too. Forexample, every square inch of his armor has the same texture feel to it the whole way around the model. It would feel more real imo if some areas were yellowed a bit, or had a different wear and tear style.
but hot dog, its a tight textured model no diggity. nice
I'm not sold on all the tiny marks on his armor, I think that you can be more conservative with them and limit them to logical places (would he really take that many scracthes to his facearmor)? Or keep the marks and step up the damage in exposed areas. Those kneepads are just begging to be scracthed apart .
The cloth looks rumpled but otherwise pretty pristine when compared to the armor, shouldn't there be some more damage to the cloth if the armor is this worn?
But, all in all, I really like this, feels like a complete package, a good, solid character with a topnotch texture. Good work.
snap.crackle.pop: It took me about 2 month's working in my off time to complete this model and texture. In a studio environment it could probably be completed in one month, then there would be a bunch of design changes that would take a week or two, and then it would sit arround for a month or two, and then the direction of the game would change and it would get thrown out because it didn't fit with the new style guide. :P

again, very cool work and amazing execution.
any chance to show the high poly model?
I love all these small details.
The texture really does it for this guy, its awesome.
Keep it up, and publish this mod someday!
Im asking because since you probably work for a real studio, just so people know
thanks
Honestly, all the ND character models knock my socks off!
Great work!

When I clicked on the 'concept art' button under media I got a page not found.
