Are you building a low poly around a high? If so which other apps do you have access to or use? If it's 3dsmax I can suggest a few scripts that help speed things up.
I'm trying to build the low poly over the high using the edit topology tools. I'll give the form a try. Thanks.
Yes - it's Max I'm using. What scripts would you recommend?

Max Retopo, A pretty good script, runs in max. It tries to make one mesh conform to another. It works best if you start the mesh on the outside and allow it to shrink. I think its based on Paul Hormis's shrink wrap script? it works pretty well if you freeze the high poly and shift drag and snap edges to the high.

WrapIt (currently in beta testing, if you ask he'll probably let you test. Same idea, only more features and a little less hacked together).
I have to say when i initially tried it i was'nt a fan it crashed quite a few times and not having the ability to add multiple reference models and switch between them was a shame. However i find myself using it frequently now, and it has a welcome place in my process pipeline.
I knew about WrapIt, and have been anxiously waiting its release. But this Max Retopo looks really great and its Free! I cant wait to try it out. Thanks for sharing Vig!
Noobish question alert : I haven't really found a use for scripts at all really apart from one along time ago which was an MD2 exporter. How do you get this up and running?
Yup, they are still letting people into the Topogun Beta. I Got in a few weeks ago.
It's a great alternative To Zbrush retopo and as a Maya user there is only one expensive option for retopo in Maya. So Topogun fits in right where I need. I am using max now as well, though, so I'll try out those scripts.
I'm using the latest version of 3D coat. It's pretty good. The tools are actually hard to learn and when I started zbrush toplogy tools I made a whole face. I'm having trouble learning how to use the stroke tool and connecting it all together and such. I'm sure it gets better.

By filling out the request form. I'm not sure if they(he) are letting people into the beta or not.
