I used to listen to Xploding Plastix a lot, i should get some again. While working i mostly like to listen to a lot of electronic and instrumental music, as lyrics either get blocked out entirely (including the music with it), or it distracts me from my work.
Postrock, chiptunes, idm, ambient, sludge, etc...

Most of the instrumental music i listen to isn't that high on my list because numbers tend to be fairly long, so that makes for less 'songs' per record
i'm listening to a few songs off of a 65daysofstatic radio-session now, which are also instrumental, and manage to mix up postrock with electronics quite well.
yeah Skullbox, I came across them on Pandora on my Amon tobin channel, and instantly loved it. then I bought every CD of theirs I could find. they rock, and it's great driving music too hehe.
At the risk of sounding like an emo fag... I just picked up the new Anberlin CD 'Cities', a little different from their earlier stuff (only slightly, more synth now). The vocals seem to stimulate my alpha brain waves... WOOO PRODUCTIVITY AND IMAGINATION!

anything melodic and chill. can't do heavy metal or anything with lyrics while working, fucks me up.

You're the first person I've come across who also knows this, other than the people I've passed it to.

And hell yes. Have you checked out Foley Room already? Takes a few sessions to get used to it, but I think it's an awesome album.
