Hi, i started this week a new character. Once the hires will be finish, i'd like to try to make an In-game version.
Ok here is the first step, block out the character before import in zbrush.
I'm trying to find some great proportion
here is the initial quick sketch.

Marv would be awesome in The Specialists, but you don't need Zbrush for that
Please say you're gonna do "severely beaten Marv"!
it'd be neat if you could figure out a shader that helped him handle light like they did in the movie.
here is the first test on the pants.
Example:
Update
Here is a little update on the boots.
looking good so far! i agree with ebagg about the cloth folds in the trousers though, they look very random and not sharp enough.
keep it up

MoP: this version was just a test, i don't reuse it. But i'm agrre with you and ebagg. I'll try to go on this wayon the next version.
ill_logic: I'm not really work on the face right now. I'll add all the specific feature during the zbrush step.
here is one of my refs for the face. The actual head doesn't looks like this one but i'll try to add later some of the features there is in this ref.
Squirmy: you are righ tabout the boots, i'll fix it in the next update.
ultra: Thanks man.
I think your features are too normal at the moment so its watering down the best features Marv has.
very cool character=)
Mio: thanks man.
Ok well, i started to work on the torso and the arms.
Keep on keepin' on.
jgarland: i don't work on the pants yet
update mainly on the head.
again, this is looking friggen awsome!
I'm still not finish the hi-poly sculpting, need to make some scar and scratch here and there on the body. But i wanted to make some test with baking normal map since it's my very first lowpoly model.
so here is my first test.
Here is an update, proportion revisited
The one to the left is a more handsome physique, but the one to the right is closer to Marv's body in the comic; he's not a particularly handsome man in the comics, just big and ugly.
Great work!
Old variant was better, did you backup?
my opinion- old var+ with little bit bigger head
I also think that the second version is closer to the look of the original marv.
anyway about the head, i'd like to keep it that way. make feel the character bigger.
Yes Askhat, i have a backup of the previous version.
ps:: Askhat, i visited your website and wanted to tell that i really dig this torso_armor I 'd love to make things like that
