The Fountain: no CGI

This Wired article on The Fountain is a pretty good read, but the most surprising thing is the space scenes are not CGI! I'm really not sure if there's absolutely no CGI in the movie whatsoever but Aronofsky is right when he says CGI in movies doesn't age well.

Last movie I know of that did this was starship troopers, great combination of CGI and real models (all the space scenes were made with models and added CGI effects). Very interesting indeed and it does make me look forward more to the movie

I think some CGI has aged very well though, it just depends on how it's used (Jurrasic Park!)

Just saw the trailer here at work (no sound though), but the visuals look really nice. Especially for no (or limited) CGI. Definately will be looking forward to seeing this one.
