Yes video games need to have a place, considering the money they bring in, but to have an award ceremony where you still have to tell people what video games are, is just frankly, patronising.

and while I'm at it, why is real player such a pain in the arse to install on windows with mountains of bullshit, when on the mac it's easy to download, doesn't require any info off you and actually works without making you want to smash your pc to bits?

As for real player, I prefer to just install the right codec and use media player classic http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm

Probably because you go into the mindset that "this is going to be worse than on a mac". I can download it, install it, do not register and away we go, realplayer installed and ready to go.

Real player is quite nice on the mac. The PC version is like a virus.
