Polyphony has released some screenshots of the "premium" content on the Gran Turismo HD game disc. This premium content is meant to show the visual quality of the cars in Gran Turismo 5. Right now, the only updated graphics are the cars, the environments are still from GT4. But damn, this ferrarri looks HOT!
Yeah, the cars look extremely detailed, but in the gameplay movies I saw, the lighting and shadows looked really bad. The shadow of the car on the road and the shadows of the environment on the car are unrealistic or non existant.
There are a few trailer on gametrailers.com, you should check for yourself.
The cars look great.
I was comparing the Forza screens with these with a friend... and there's a level of contrast in Forza's cars that make them harsh on the eyes. It's like they're too shiny.
I wouldn't count these screens as being GT5, though. I'm reading that it's some kind of "PS3 version of GT4". As a fan, though, I'm excited that they finally have the Ferrari license. Hopefully they'll pick up Lambo and Porsche as well.
from what someone told me in #md, it's basically a port with some graphical improvements, which also comes with a singleplayer demonstration of gt5... and real gt5 is some time away...
I also noticed the environments being very subpar but the car models are spectacular ...
I think you guys misread what Vassago said. These cars are additional content, which show the visual quality we can expect in GT5. Everything else is ported from GT4, but this Ferrari is new content so it shows a little of what we can expect from GT5.
that is an amazing looking ferrari. I'm also very happy to see Gran Turismo get the ferrari license. I'll have to find a friend with a PS3 and play GT5, cause I sure as hell am not buying one.

Yes, in these screenshots, only the CAR is indicative of GT5 content visuals.
Ozy, when I buy one, you guys can all come over then
