Working my concepts tomorrow. Funfun!

Adon became Sagat's student three years after Sagat became God of Muay Thai. Frequently likened to a "lesser version of Sagat", even though he strived to differentiate himself with more acrobatic techniques, Adon entered the first World Warrior tournament to prove he was more than that. The cocky Adon let his guard down when he faced Ryu, who took him out with a single Shoryuken.
Adon was not mad at Ryu for defeating him, he was mad at Sagat for being unable to uphold Muay Thai's honor (conveniently forgetting how Ryu had bested him during the World Warrior tournament). He challenged Sagat for the title of God of Muay Thai and won, but the enraged Sagat had done so much damage to him in the fight that Adon had to be hospitalized for months.
When he was on his feet again, Adon heard that a mysterious fighter had killed one of his challengers, using the same power that Ryu had used to defeat Sagat. Adon swore to find the stranger and take this power for his own. To this day, it is believed that Adon still seeks him out.

what kind of thing are you gonna go for in your concept?
Here's one of my options. I'm not so great at illustration, so it's just a quick paintover.
I might tweak the color scheme if I use this version.
Next one I'm thinking of moving towards a Kefka-ish look (Final Fantasy 6).
Here's my Kefka-ish version. I like the hair and the red mascara. This one's a little truer to Adon's original design.
I'd like to hear you guys' thoughts on what direction I should take. I need a break anyways
Muay Thai is really simplistic (fashion) style, so I can't stay too close to it and still re-invent the character.
I really want to keep his headgear and tape, but I want to give him some style too.
I'm more than happy to hear suggestions. I'm scanning my art books for costume inspiration all day.
Was thinking of whether or not to use planes or a mesh for the hair. In the design of the regular character, his hair doesn't move anyway.
I gotta give him some nice big teeth and crazy eyes...
I made him into a merman!
I reworked #2 to be a bit more true to the original. I like it better with white tape.
While your latest paintover is probably my favourite of the four, it still looks like the same Adon, only with tattoes and a tight sleeveless shirt.
If you're going to keep the whole Muy Thai concept going, maybe make him in a more traditional Muy Thai style. Give him the thin rope wraps instead of tape. Feel free to change his hair. If you like the crazy style, then experiment with some different kinda of craziness!
Don't worry, even I'm having trouble trying to change the look of Ken for my entry. But that's what concepting is for.
Keep it up dude.

I think I like the character too much and its holding me back from changing certain things about him.
I'll do a fresh concept with or without illustration skillz next time I can.
