Hopefully this is a joke. Not again, please http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Germany_1%E2%80%930_Austria
I'd rather see my favourite team losing than a manipulated game. There have been enough bad referee decisions in the tournament so far, no need to make it look bad again.
At least both games will be played at the same time so that neither team knows the outcome of the Ghana vs Portugal game before the match. That seemed to be the cause of half of the controversy in that Wikipedia article.
I'm pretty sure the game in that article is the exact reason they have simultaneous kick offs for the final games of the group stage.
The soccer fan in me only comes out of hibernation once every four years, so I'm no expert. That said, I thought USA played really well yesterday. I thought they earned the win and to draw in the final 30 seconds was indeed painful. I still think they'll advance, but damn, it'd be nice to have it sewn up already.
Except it benefits both teams to tie. It doesn't help that both coaches are very chummy, professionally and personally.
Low was Klinsmann's assistant when he led Germany's national team to a third place finish at the 2006 World Cup. Low took over as head coach of the team when Klinsmann left later that year.
Klinsmann's ties to Germany don't stop with Low. He represented his native country as a player at three past World Cups, including in 1990 when then-West Germany won the title in a 1-0 win over Argentina in the final.
In addition, many of the U.S. players are also German -- players Klinsmann recruited. Team USA's John Brooks, Jermaine Jones, Fabian Johnson, Timothy Chandler and Julian Green are all German-American.
From what I've seen in their matches they don't look hungry. I'm not hoping for an upset against them but the other teams I like cuz they show no mercy.
Neymar's GREAT though no doubt. Just not confident with his teammates.
stupid ball games, bunch of dudes chase up a ball
"that's my ball, that's my ball, no one can touch it but me, and whats more, I'm shoot it after having it... i just can't have enough balls"
@Suba
Either he is an ignorant hater or just joking about it.
it's probably the latter, but i never cared with stupid post like that.
On topic, i'm not even a fan of football, but i like watching them when there's big event going on, like World Cup or EURO. Other than that, nah.
Last night Brazil vs Chile is pretty awesome. Felt a bit rough on the first half. Great match, but i was rooting for Chile
My main favorite team is Germany. I don't even know why though, i just like them since i was young. Hope they can pull it off till Final.
The fat Mexican team coach is wearing a suit the whole time. They had the advantage. But his players just lost momentum or even the will to play into overtime after the tie goal.
Hm, gotta say i absolutely can't stomach penalty like that in last minute of the game.
That one decision is just way to important to just blindly decide like that. In such cases, it's pretty much referee who decides to will proceed with the WC and who goes home.
They really should implement another referee who once or twice per game, can take time and take a look at the replays and only then decide. On 1-1 matches, 1 goal is insanely important, and it's something many other sports already have, so it's not something new either.

I like how Robben "accepted" that trip. Not saying it was dirty it was obvious in the video what happened. But in a play he did minutes before he easily evaded a similar situation opting to go for goal instead of getting a penalty. Which, if true, is kinda like a honorable move.
Go for goal to tie, but go for clever play (i.e. make the other guy make a mistake) so you can pull a penalty kick for the win.
Team psychology games are amazing to see in the world cup.
Well i dunno. It does feel like there was some contact, but it still seems like roben did "drama play" it to force penalty, not very convincing either.
But, i don't really blame him, i'm a little angry at FIFA for allowing in 2014 that this can happen in the first place.....

Most def'. I might have too much hope in haters, haha.
I'm like you actually, not a fan of football at all but when it comes to big events, it is such a show it becomes exciting to watch it.
Same shit with american football (more like handegg but let's not start that debate), I never watch it but when it comes to SuperBowl... I just have to.
Not a bad start! Try adding more blues into the mix to balance the predominately warm color palette, and experiment with reversing the values (lighter up top, darker near the bottom). Also, more bloom and lens flare.
I support Team USA first always, but Germany is my second favorite

Haha.
Germans are really solid this year. As a french guy, I kinda fear the next match. :poly122:
Big game today. Belgium is gooooood, and they haven't even played their best yet. I'm hoping beyond hope for an Argentina upset and a USA win for a much more manageable game against the Swiss.

Looks like the wrist got it head on, wrist/hand being forced towards the elbow, it buckled and snapped. Sports injuries aren't fun, did my interior ligament of my ankle 7 years ago and my ankle still clicks when I rotate it - x-ray guy asked me if I was a Pro - I'm not, but I reckon if I'd had said yes it would've been bad.

I like how the Bosnian goal keeper dragged a Nigerian writher off the field in that game.
USA vs. GER reminds me of
Still favoring Chile, Netherlands, or Argentina to go the final round. Maybe Germany will be there.
I blame Will Ferrell for being out of shape and not biting enough people.

Inspiring never-say-die game by the Dutch even with Van Persie subbed out. HORRIFIC breakdown by Mexico defense.
Good Mexican goalie though in Ochoa.

Oh well, was still really good match!
Ochoa excellent tho. What a keeper.
Sad Mexico is out. and i hate Robben and his acting drama. Tho it was a penalty i guess.
Now to cheer for Brazil.

BTW, i want germany to win over brazil! gogogo kartofens!
With Neymar out they've got a good shot at it.
