Read more carefully in future. It does, in fact, list that.
I've got a fairly decent 2B pencil facsimile in Photoshop using the Brush tool, set to Multiply mode, using textured tips, pressure = opacity, and a bit of scattering/tip size jitter. Works pretty well for me, nice and smooth too.
Ok now I see it at the end of his message versus the beggining. Can you blame me for missing that portion since I was following the order? AND I might add it quotes "I use the pencil tool at 100% opacity" You know what I thought me meant? The pencil tool he just created (meaning thats its name) given again where it is in the steps.
So yea, I did read it right, just not in the same manner.
can someone save out brush or take a screen grab of the settings used exactly, because this sounds pretty neat (ive never tried using pshop to simulate pencils but now it seems like its worth a try)
Yeah I used the dual brush for the speed. I could make one that starts larger and scales better, I'll put that on my lunchtime to-do list. 8-)
Zweek: Be looking for my latest tutorial series on my website. I'm about to upload the head modeling portion, and the PDF that comes with it outlines all the tools I use for modeling. I'll provide the PDF for seperate download as well.

Here ya go kp.
brush tip shape
-diameter 5 px
-hardness 100%
-spacing 1%
shape dynamics
-size jitter control: pen pressure
texture
use whatever texture scaled down to 5%
-check 'texture each tip', mode: overlay
-depth 50%
-minimum depth 70%
-depth jitter 15%, control: pen pressure
other dynamics
-control: pen pressure
check 'Noise'
uncheck 'Smoothing'
I use the pencil tool at 100% opacity.

-control: pen pressure is that for opacity, jitter, or both?
Anyway using the pencil tool, the only option I can set is Opacity Jitter, and that's set to 0% and "Pen Pressure".
Oh, It didnt list using pencil mode

Now someone needs to make a smudge brush with like a fingerprint texture in it, hehe.
