hoi there
i havn´t thougt it would be come so far..
but atm i´m building a model with more than 3k polys ( a shame
)
theres still a lot of stupid stuff going on here and there and some places are still very vip
but however, i see it more as a training place to play around with highpoly-moddeling-techniques and normalmapping stuff
and i realy should try to find a way, make stuff look like it should look
btw. head is z-brush and these Renders showing only mid-subD .. the rest is stored in a normalmap on my hd
and some question about the lowpoly..
is there a "bestway" du build/generate it, or what´s your favorite way to make the lowpoly?!
and sorry for my 1.50 AM english

atm the texture is at a very very basic level
btw: xNormal is a great program but why can´t i add an additional bumpmap like in q4?
hope u dont mind i had some fun with the head, it has a real nice character to it and i felt something was off with it. i think it's how the neck connects real tight with the jaw, he wouldn't be able to open his mouth without smashing into his own throat!
just an idea sorry if it sux
got some more time to play around.. normalmapping has some nice effects but even some "cold"-style.. still testing and playing.. but i have so much other stuff to do.. hard to find some time to do so
Hands down, my favorate part is his calf armor. Great job.
The face is hard to read; he may benefit from less contrast between the spots and the fleshtone, but I understand he's supposed to be aged.
I love it.
As for the neck. Me, I'd go with the original. The jaw isn't going to smash into the neck, unless the jawbone of this tiger creature is some weird solid mass thing, instead of a normal U-shaped deal that all mammals have.
It looks more massive, like there's actually bone, cartilage, muscle underneath the skin/fur; while shotgun's paintover seems more akin to a head on a stick.
Really good work here, gorgeous armour. I came here for inspiration, and I definitely found it in this character
