I use two but only for creative content stuff, games will only work if i buy some extra software(which imo is retarded, if youre gonna ship a gfx card with two outputs the least you could do would be make some kind of hardware output that will allow you to play games stretched across both)... but i get asked all the time by my friends why i have two computers.. i only have one. lol but im not sure i could live with one monitor anymore its nice having the extra space!
Hey not to jack the thread or anything, but I was just wondering if it's possible to disable one monitor for gaming so that the FPS isn't drastically affected?
Most current cards you wont see a very noticable frame rate drop, unless your other screen is running porn or something. Horizontal span will turn off the other monitor whenever you switch to a fullscreen game, dual view wont.
when i play games the other screen stays on with no noticible frame hit.. its nice especially if im playing Wow or something and need to look up a quest.. or if im talkin to someone online..
I have about a 5% drop in FPS, running a 6800GT, and I can't look up or do anything on the other screen without minimizing the current game.. Which doesn't make sense to have another screen anyways.
Well im pretty sure most people can manage with 2 screens (i know i do ) just tought it was pretty cool. I know some guys at work are pretty psyched about this. Though thats probably just cus of the chance to have wow running on one of the screens while workin

Also Pfhor: I know with the dual head cards from ATI and Nvidia you can switch between span and single monitor through the advanced properties.
