The successful candidate will be a talented and creative individual. He/she will work with the company's development teams, to establish new and next generation titles. The successful candidate will have taken overall design responsibility for one or more commercially successful computer game titles.

The finalist will have over 5 years of experience at the Lead Game Design level in the computer games industry. The role will be responsible for:

An awareness of current mass market trends with regards to entertainment experiences.

Being a highly creative lateral thinker; analytical and meticulous.

Design expertise in at least one genre of game, ie, action-adventure, racing, sports, etc.

Establishing with the Producer and/or Executive Producer, the ?broad strokes? design direction for a game, or games, with an eye on the opportunities for developing the game(s) into a franchise, or developing an existing franchise.

Creating, keeping, understanding and continually developing the ?big picture? in collaboration with the Producer ? the overarching design vision of a game/franchise.

Pinpointing, establishing and avowedly understanding all relevant high-level game mechanics and working with the Game Designers on making those mechanics a functional reality.

Having the initial sign-off on all design-related documentation generated by the Game Designers on his/her team and also being called upon to document aspects of the game(s), when necessary.

Assisting the Producer in working closely with marketing to establish the game brand.

The possibility of acting in a consultative role with external design teams at third-party developers.

Understanding the requirements, which enable effective communication of the game vision to senior management.

Being an inspiring and compelling communicator, both verbally and in writing, with, in particular, excellent creative writing skills.

Being able to communicate designs to others, using audio & visual means, directly or indirectly.

The ideal candidate will preferably come from a game art or programming background, with a minimum of five years experience of game design with at least 1 triple-A title or near triple-A title. He/ she should have experience of managing a team of Game Designers, preferably on multiple titles.
