for the strogg head, I agree with kite, more beefyness would be neat, also when modeling mechanical designs without zbrush or mud, try to add floating geometry on top of somple surfaces, that will let you detail a lot more without too much pain, you'll be able to make quick changes if needed, etc
I'm pretty sure the z/mud pass on this one will be hawt anyways it's good to see your work man
