Been wanting to join one of these for a while, but had no time to model. Now the time is right.
This is my first character model, so all crits and comments welcome. I don't have any references, but the idea comes from the Superpatriot comic and an old RPG called Living Steel. Since I don't have any reference shots, I'm using an old Poser mesh for size and proportions.
Here's the curent progress;
I'm working on the torso, trying to figure out how I want to do the groin area. I like the upper legs, but they still need some work. The lower legs need to be redone completely.

I'm not real happy that he looks like a motorcross racer or superhero rather than a soldier. but at 2408 tris, I have enough to fix that. If I can before the contest ends, and it's not looking to good.
the torso armor is still a problem. the boots look good, but now I have to come with something for the knees. the upper and lower arm guards will need some re-working also. and I need to make the helmet not look BMX.
