This is the sweet spot for your low-poly models. Post 'em if you've got 'em!Low-poly hasn't really been a requirement in the games industry for a long while now. This thread is for low-poly art style appreciation, so please take note of these rough guidelines:
- Keep models under 1,000 triangles.
- Scenes are fine, if all models are low poly.
Some dedicated low-poly modelling tools now exist that make this art style a lot easier to produce;

Hehe, let's swing to the music!
My first attempt at a guy, pretty Wind Waker inspired. I'm super new to this 3d stuff but having lots of fun. I am obsessed with this thread! Everyone is making sweet stuff.
Which sadly, I should do more myself... and damn NDAs. I want to show stuff, but some of you understand the fun part of "working under wraps."
I'm from Indonesia, working at a studio game.
Here's a work we've been doing at our studio

Honestly, I'm ashamed of how unoptimized the mesh is, so you don't get wires. It's more practice for the texture, anyway. Pixel art isn't my strongest thing. I'm also colorblind (in case it's not obvious by looking at it), so let me know if the colors are too alien or whatever. I was going after "Ancient pillar that may be standing in Egyptian desert temple" sort of look.
Texture is still WIP. This is the only angle of it you're likely to see, so I just left the rest of it in doodle mode.
EDIT:
Started the second pillar thing. It's got a circle on it. These are for a playstation fanart scene. I think I'm gonna rework the side of that top-most stone, cause it kinda looks like ass now that I look at it...
UPD: My first 3d car

Two recent lowpoly models I've made. Trying to make one a day if I can for practice. Inspired by the great lowpoly models in katamari damacy.
Little test. Little fun.
Yeah I love the KD style and you're capturing it well.
You're probably aware of this twitter account that tweets all the models form the games?

Very nice.
But sling is not so broad to separate from the model. These polygons could be spent on a bang.
i just finished the textures on my first low poly character . i did it for Game artisans's lowlife challenge.

lol
i'll fix that asap thanks for the feedback ^^
Simon's blog post about diablo3 trees made me try it myself
Was very fun to do. Sort of a remake of a model I had done before too.

Nice work ^^ does it uses normal maps ? could you explain us how you did this ? i mean it really looks amazing, almost like a 3d sculpt handpainted. congrats, i love it
I'm glad you like it!
Tommy gun, ~105 tris, 16x16, kinda ugly
i see, thanks for the explanation, you should share tutorials with us, you're really skilled , hehe ^^
The sketch to final model looks stellar! Great job on this! How many polys/tris did you end up with this?
I was wondering how to achieve that cool look that every face has an indivual colour, any tutorials for it for these render settings?
This is a simple tree stump done from one of my photoscans (alas, no artistry here), 931 tris (with 4k normal and albedo map, no spec yet):
C&C welcome
Yeah, you're too dam good XD
Awesome that my article could inspire you COol tree!
