This is the sweet spot for your low-poly models. Post 'em if you've got 'em!Low-poly hasn't really been a requirement in the games industry for a long while now. This thread is for low-poly art style appreciation, so please take note of these rough guidelines:
- Keep models under 1,000 triangles.
- Scenes are fine, if all models are low poly.
Some dedicated low-poly modelling tools now exist that make this art style a lot easier to produce;

turn the horns into a polygon "pie" instead of a separate helix, and use your spare polygons on the legs and the rest of the model.
modo and photoshop.
hey man post up a wire frame, 2600 tris seems way too high for that model.
Yeah need more geo around the legs
Here is the flashlight with smooth shading, flat shading and different angles.

Guns and towers are between 300 - 500 tris each.
Wireframe turns for some of the medium sized models ~500 tris to ~750 tris for the turtle
hey thanks man, nah no hi poly bake this is totally just hand painted into the texture. Only diffuse,no spec or normal.
hey man this stuff looks awesome! I saw that OTT TD image on a recent ep of Good Game, tried to search for it but couldnt find it. Now here it is. A clip of a game from the studio im working at was on the ep too.
any way great work I watched the vid on the website love the look of that shark blimp thing. good luck
Churbles is looking freakin cute!
Which is totally why I got involved with the project.
Looking at that glass, though - it's like looking into the heart of the universe
1024x1024 Each texture. The name of Galileu is just a little easter egg : ]
Cool! Are the windows masked? The same thing is happening on the rims too? Seeing a this kind of shader trick and a this "low" budget model at once is interesting. Spectacular anyways.
A 1024 each seems like massive overkill. Is it really necessary to have that high res textures?
Delko, you never fail to amaze me. Awesome texture work as always. Love the window effect!
Really wanna know how that is effect is made, so goood.
I think it's a camera trick.
There's a polygon mesh inside that is always facing the camera. Think Super Mario 64. The trees were 2d billboards but because they were always facing the camera, you could never tell.
Or maybe he combined 2 gifs in photoshop and simply masked out the windows.
My guess would be a screen space shader that uses the screen coordinates instead of the models uv's.
renderhjs: Those models and textures are really awesome. Would love to see that turtle and octopus when they're finished. Edit: Followed your link and saw the turtle, along with all the other juicy stuff in there. Damn, I need to get my ass in gear.
mavhn: Great character!
Have a nice day.. :-)
I think you're right. It seems the most valid. Putting a polygon in there that faces the camera on all corners is not even possible I think.
hehe. Thx Delko and Spacey!
One is 556 tris btw.
276 tris
im still new to normal mapping/bump texture
I decided to make a small pack from these cars. It will contain:
Fiat 126p - done
VW beetle 1952
VW golf mk1
Lada 1200 - model is done
Cirtoen CV
Trabant 601
Probably I will release this as a texturing sdk. Any car request or suggestion?
Hi guys! I'm making a chess set! It's a specifically designed set for use in competitions by a guy named Weir. He designed it off the architecture of the Parthenon. This is my first sketchfab post! I hope you guys like it!
Oh yeah, the reason that sketchfab says there are so many polys is because I have a full grip of pawns in the scene. Each piece is actually pretty low poly. There are a couple higher-poly versions, like one of the knights and one of the rooks- I also think I left the meshsmooth on for the King and Queen.
Let me know what you all think!
Sorry dude, but you don't know what lowpoly means if you call them to that. More than 30k triangles for a few chess figures is absolutely not lowpoly. Others builds full levels from this amount of triangles. Look around in this thread and you will see what lowpoly actually means. Make the whole set from 1000-1500 triangles and then post it again , and then calling them to lowpoly will be acceptable.
