aight...what's the best hair plug-in out there???

i've got myself into a challenging spot. i need to make some pretty realistic looking dreadlocks...just wondering what the BEST hair plug-in out there is. i've looked at ornatrix and heard of shave/haircut. any advice would be greatly appreciated. MOP?..you're always sooo good w/the advice. i know i owe you a pizza already....wanna try for an extra large?

for dreads you should try this cool "free!!" script.. seems like it would make awesome dreads!!
here is a sample pic.. i bet if you messed with the settings and did it to a tube or something you would get awesome dreads..

when i get to a certain point on a render...i get "application is out of memory...blah blah blah" and it crashes. is there a way to get around this?

uh oh...wait a minute...i may have figured somethin' out.

nope...this boggs my machine to the point of crashing. argh!!! any other tips?

Model 'em as solids, then add thin fur for silhouette...?

well if your machine crashes because of this, then you have most likely a hardware problem going on. chances are your ram is defective or the powersupply not strong enough. happened to me, too. nasty thing is that you do not recognize it unless you put the machine under heavy load.
