Among all the other comp problems i've had lately, now everything's 'fixed', and of course my games start intermittently freezing. After swappin out vid cards I determined my BFG-Tech 6800 was the source of the problem. Emailed them up and got this response, so if anyone else is having probs...:

The problem you're experiencing is a result of the newer drivers and the nForce 3 chipset.
If you roll back to 66.93 drivers, the problem should go away. The only problem with doing that is that Battlefield 2 doesn't run properly unless you're running the most up to date drivers.
Everything else should work OK, though.
We encourage all of our 6800 users to be patient while we work with nvidia to find out that was added to the newer generations of drivers, and how this problem can be fixed without removing any of the finctionality provided by the newer drivers.
It's been a long process, but we are doing everything we can to try and get this fixed. We know the hardware's not incompatible because it works fine on any drivers from 66.93 on back.
