Hello there, I am having some troubles with render to texture in max, any help would be appreciated. In fact I have 2 problems, both with baking textures.
1. I'm trying to render the shadows of this model
to the diffuse map. I do everything the same way I always to it with the render to texture tool. But somewhat all I get is a map with the size I've chosen filled with the background color of the scene. No textures at all. I unwrapped him properly, the applied diffusemap shows properly, everything seems to work. But I just can't get anything but the empty 512x512 texture with the background color in it. Any ideas why this may happen?
2. The second problem is about normal maps, it may have some things in common with the first one. I render the normal map and it looks the way it should in the texture output window (it doesnt show the normal map there, only the shaded diffuse map), then I check the saved normalmap and it's all black. No matter what I change, it keeps being black.
Any ideas how to fix this? Some help would be appreciated, I want to go on

Some stabs in the dark...
Is RTT set to the correct UV?
Is RTT using the scanline renderer?
What version of Max?
Have you tried Poopinmymouth's normal mapping tutorial?

UV and RTT both are set to mapchannel 1, I think those settings are ok. I was working with max 7.
The weird thing is, I forgot it for the small truck too, but there It doesn't work when I select the scanline render.
