i love this style choice.. its just like the radiohead video.. really low poly models with no smoothing.. i was hoping someone else would really explore this style more..
I remember seeing the video a while back... and thinking how interesting of a change it would be if someone were to adopt the same visual style in a video game.
(Radiohead vid, not this one)
Do you have an alternate link for the movie? The site is so slow.

I like the cubist tragedy video.. well right up till the end with the piccaso painting infact all after teh mesh smooth was dumb in my opinion, but everyting before it completely entertaining,
the radiohead video i thought was "ok" at best stiff animation, the main model looked like a straight body scan that had had an optimize modifier ran on it, i did injoy the parts where his face reduced polys as he sang but it was just done 2 real quick times, all the videos breaking and falling apart, and reforming as newer ones did not impress me, oh and the guys singing just makes me want to push him in mud
[/ QUOTE ] hahaha, I worked on that game. At Mondo Media we did the cinematics for Activision. The characters didn't have mouths, so we could get away with no lipsynch. That was a fun job.
But I really like the insider-humor of that clip. Something a struggling modeler would get a kick out of.
This is really nicely done. It makes me jealous and want to work on a short.
I notice her fixup kit was called 'Maxa'. I wonder what the makers of a certain 3D app. feel about the underlying connotation of a broken undo? ;-P

Global Illumination is really what makes it work, I think.
