While I'm not absolutely sure of this, it looks like the thing this new program does so well, is varied alpha edges. Those links you posted Eric, while helpful (I'm gonna test em out) look like they just blur the edges and tile for the most part. This new program looks like it will identify the chunks of the pattern, and chop out whole elements so that it overlays better, with an uneven seam between each overlap to disguise it.
Yeah, imageSynth does have those edges. Also looks like it uses a stamping method similar to the Bandaid brush. Pretty slick being able to stamp custom selections too.
TextureMaker does something similar, but it ain't free. Resynthesizer though is a freebie, and it has a "smart" algorithm, aligning the stamps with other similarities. Pretty cool that one. TexSynth ain't bad either.

That's really top notch stuff! Looks to be a great time saver.
I hope more and more stuff like this keeps showing up as demand for more and greater detailed content doesn't appear to be slowing any time soon.
1 CD, a manual and a chinese guy inside a special box (rice sold separately).

I'm looking forward to testing this out!
Thanks again eric fork the links!
