I kinda agree, killingpeeps, but aeon flux was great because of the animation; it should have been animated all the way, maybe a CG makeover or something. Peter Chung is my animation hero, the king of pose to pose. The trailer just has none of that aeon feel. And even worse, it looks pretty low budget; sets, costumes...not doing it for me.
I remember the original series of animations back when Mtv was cool. I liked it. I like Charlize Theron as well. But I'm not getting my hopes up for this.
i never got into aeon flux the toon, hated the animation and the whole thing in general, theres bits about this movie i think could be cool, but believe it will all play second fiddle to slow mo backfliping. may netflix it, or relucttantly go see it if a group of ppl from work go
I didn't see anything in that trailer that reminded me off the cartoon. They could at least made her hair look like the cartoon a bit or given her the high heels I remebered her to have.
The whole scenery looks all fresh and sunny while I remember the cartoon to have this dark and a bit industrial look to it.
I doubt that I'll even waste the bandwidth on this
ikran, it does not have to be just like the cartoon in order to be good , it just needs to be "good" looks like it will be bad to me, but most the things i think will suck about it are the same things i thought sucked about the toon,
Rhinokey, that's true. But if you make a movie based on a licence then I expect to find some resemblence of that licence. For me the only thing the movie and the cartoon have in common is the name.
ox, i did not say "fun" i said "good" big big dif, i'm saying there was not much to the cartoon to base a movie on, pretty much the only things that people liked about the cartoon (the art style, the 10 minutes of non stop action with no plot, and then the main character dying.) well that would make a completely horrible movie,
making this movie in the first place is about like going "lets make a movie about.. green!"
theres jsut not so much there to work with, then when you try and add stuff to it to make it make sense.. its no longer green.. its aqua marine, or even purple.
i'm just saying if i watched the movie and it was good, then i would like it, even if it did not resemble the shallow overly stylized cartoon.
i'm also not saying i think this movie will be "good"
the trailer and everythign else about it makes me thing "utter shite"
Alexander was before Rome. In fact alot of Roman emperors tried to show a lineage back to him (amoung others including Romulus and Remus) to streghten their status.

A good idea would be to release The Maxx on DVD!!!
I remember a few The Maxx episodes, had a very AD2000 feel about it. Judge Dred and Tank Girl were kinda horribly mutilated by hollywood (and Rebellion :P)
MTV had some interesting cartoons before it became like ultra-hip. All they have now is like Daria, which is alright but not exactly great.
There was another show on a channel that's now dead, was along the same lines as The Maxx only was about some Super Hero who didn't want to be one; just wanted to veg out in his apartment. Can't remember the name though. Think it was something like 'The Blue Thing' or something.
Might have to track down this AeonFlux series, see if it's any good. Always prefered ProductionIG stuff though, things that are less about trying to freak you out and are more about taking a look at society.

I never really was into aeonflux unfortunately. So i wouldn't know if it fully represents the cartoon. The movie sounds really corny though >.<.
I hope I'm wrong though.

It doesn't. Not at all. Not even a little bit.

Would you want the life story of Mojo: The Rhinokey to be play out like a episode of "Get a Life"?
Your own arguement, says as long as its fun.. Who cares. But do you really want millions of people seeing you as such?
effing pussies couldn't put her in latex

It was more like she refused to wear the latex thong that the real character wore.
