hey xsi users, having a bit of a problem with xsi (4.2).
if i try to tweak the noIcon.pic or import a texture that is non-square, the uv mapping goes bonkers and distorts the uv's for the model. any idea how to fix this?

3dsmax does the same thing. Well, at least pre-v7. I haven't tried using non-square bitmaps in XSI yet, though.

Softimage will not let you rescale the noIcon texture. You have to choose another image (or copy the noIcon texture to your project folders). I normally use a black.psd for Stamping.

If you want to change the UV shape to (for example) 256 x 512 rectangle: In the texture editor, select File>Clip Properties. Under Transform, Rescale to your custom or texture size. If you already have UV's, it'll scale those too, so just rescale them back to normal once you're through.
