Howdy, I've been working on these two characters over the past week, the soldier type guy was started last monday and the fat boy was started on saturday. They were done in XSI. I'm trying to do a lot more high poly stuff now. i'll post the concepts later, they're on paper right now :O
Not bad. The Fat guy look like a giant bubble, but the soldier has some nice details on him. Try adding things like wrinkles on cloth to help the arms and legs look more realistic.
Is the part that he sees through ment to be plastic or glass? It looks a bit bumpy to be some sort of transparent material. It also seems to not have a hard enough edge where it meets the rest of the helmet on the side-on view.
The Human body is about 6 or 7 heads tall depending on male/female and comic book characters. here are some simple proportion reference that you can use.
Now i know that the helmet is larger that the characters head but the suit that it goes with is also bigger than his body so you may want to consider that as well.
Great work I really like the detail in the helmet and the boots, best of luck. -46th
Here is another image of your model with the proportion head figure that may help you out some.
One thing about the suit is that if you were to bulk up the shoulders putting armor or shoulder pads etc.
It would create a sense of intimidation and a stronger character not to mention that it would be kick ass. -46th
