How's the contract angle looking?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone had any input on doing contract work exclusively instead of working full time on location and its future. Is it few and far between or on an upswing?

With games becoming more and more complex, I'm sure art assets will too and maybe just require being on-site to comm with your teammates most effectively. Any thoughts?

On the contrary actually I think with more complicated assets comes a greater deal of specialization. I think we'll see more studios dividing up their workforce into niches. Contractors can be used with a bit more ease of mind, whenever the asset is more sharply defined.

The biggest problem with being a contractor, as I see it, is keeping the work coming in. Gotta be on top of your shmooze, keep the word of mouth flowing. But if you can keep that going, the flex time benefit is great.

can't complain. Depends on who you know I suppose. And what type of work you're doing.
